The vector sum of momenta before and after the collision is the same.

One way to visualize this is that if one of the colliding objects changes its momentum (mass x velocity) in one direction, then the other colliding object must needs change its momentum in the opposite direction - by the same amount, except for the direction.

How can before and after situations be compared for collisions using the law of conservation of momentum?

The momentum before and after is the same, due to the Law of Conservation of momentum. Thus if you calculate the momentum before, then you have the after momentum or vice-versa.

Year the law of conservation was discovered?

There are many laws of conservation. Some of the better-known ones are the law of conservation of energy, of momentum, and of rotational momentum. There are many laws of conservation. What is a sentence using the law of conservation of momentum?

Conservation of momentum is an absolute symmetry of nature

What states that the total momentum of objects that interact do not change?

You have more or less described a law of physics known as conservation of momentum, which is not the same thing as the law of universal gravitation. The law of universal gravitation describes the way mass attracts other mass, and the law of conservation of momentum tells us that momentum is neither created nor destroyed. These two laws are not connected.

Law of the conservation of angular momentum applies which body?

Law of conservation of momentum applies to any body on which no external torque is acting.

Is it true that the law of conservation of energy stated that momentum is conserved in a collision?

Is it true that the law of conservation of engery states that momentum is in a collision

What is the relationship between momentum and law of conservation of momentum?

Well... the law of conservation of momentum states that "In a system consisting of bodies on which no outside forces are acting; the total momentum of the system remains the same."

What is the most significant similarity between conservation of energy and conservation of momentum?

in law of conservation of energy ENERGY IS CONSERVED and in law of conservation of momentum MOMENTUM IS CONSERVED. There's not similarity in these two laws. expect that in both laws , one quantity is conserved.

What is another name of Law of conservation of momentum?

The law of inertia.

Why is the law of conservation of momentum important?

The Law of conservation of momentum tells us that the law of conservation of energy is in effect. The first derivative of energy is force. If the force is zero, then there is conservation of energy. If force is zero than momentum is constant as force is dP/dt then 0=dP/dt or Conservation of Momentum.
