To obtain food, the constrictors (Pythons,Anacondas,Boas) simply catches its prey & quickly coils the whole body around, and then tightens the coil to such extreme that the prey dies of Asphyxia(want of air). The more the prey tries to exhale, that much the strangle hold of the snake tightens until & unless the respiratory movement of the victim finally ceases..Note that the snake's body muscle is build up of single muscle and can create enermous pressure.Truely the strangle of death.
