Best Answer

They may form a protective barrier around their young, or if a predator is trying to attack a young animal, they may go after that predator and chase it off, or even fight with it until it submits and runs away.

Other cows, though, may just up and run away from that predator.

Can a horse live happy with goats and cows?

Not sure about a horse with goats and cows, but around here, the ranchers always try to keep a mule (almost a horse, right?) with their sheep. The mule knows how to kick when a predator comes around. Ever notice when a few sheep gather around a mule? They probably sense a predator around and want to be around the place kicker for protection. A horse? Probably the same. Look into it. Call your local game warden; he probably knows.

Do porcupines behave weird?

Every animal behaves differently, depending on what they eat, where they live, and what is around them. For example, in a porcupine's case, when it is being attacked by a predator, it will roll up into a ball and flash out its quills. For an omnivore living in the habitat they live in, no, porcupines do not behave weird.
