Generally a male turtle will have a concave plastron ("belly" part of the shell) for mounting the female. Males will also have a slightly larger base on their tail for housing the gonads.
the male turtle has a longer tail than the female turtle. the female turtle is always larger than the male turtle..

To make a baby turtle
The male will have a longer tail and sort of more curvy. When you are trying to determine sexes, a baby or younger turtle will be nearly impossible to tell until it gets older.
The female turtle will lay the eggs and the male comes along and fertilizes them. The female turtle will lay eggs even if there is no male turtle around.
You can see if a turtle is a male or female by their tail. A female will have a shorter tail than a male.
The sex of a turtle is not determined by its pattern. It is usually determined by the shape of the underside of the shell. A male turtle usually has a somewhat concave bottom shell, while a female turtle's bottom shell is more flat. Another method to determine the sex of a turtle is by the shape of the tail. The tail of a male is usually wider and "stubbier" than that of a female turtle. See link below for further information. It includes pictures demonstrating the differences between male and female turtles/tortoises.
Mostly the male stinkpot turtle would probably be much smaller then the female stinkpot just like in frogs the male is smaller than the female turle
There are many places where you can find a picture of the male and female turtle in a species. You can look at your local library for books with these pictures for example.
You usually can tell by their tale if its longer its a male if its shorter its a female.
if the bottom of the turtle is flat its a female and if its curved its a male, but if the turtles tail gets a lot longer and it becomes more curved its a male
If it is a female the belly is darker
