I've never found a free on-line site for the service manual for this vehicle. The detailed instructions on how to dismantle all the dash covers of the CR-V run to several pages accompanied by detailed photos of the operation. W-A-Y- too much trouble and effort to transcribe here (and they are protected by copyright). Suggest that you try to get a copy of the Haynes or the Chiltons Repair Manual for the vehicle. Your local libray MAY have one or you can purchase them in auto parts supply place or on-line.
The heater in the CRV Honda is not working . How do I fix this
Theres no such thing as a 95 crv, 97 was the first year. Gen1 crv 97-01,
Pretty sure the 97 Honda CRV doesn't have an EGR valve. I have a service manual for the 97 and it's nowhere to be found. I think some Civics didn't have one either.
The 1997 Honda CR-V OBD 2 port is under passenger dash
I have a 97, AWD first year they made them. We get 26-29 highway. If you drive like a moron or don't maintain your car it will be much worse.
Torque to 20ft/lbs initially. Then tighten to 65ft.lbs. Oil head bolts before installing.

On the fuse box under the dash. The blue box is the ICU.
The interior fuse panel is just under the left edge of the dash panel where it is mounted on the firewall.
The CKP looks like a small gear with long teeth located inside the distributor housing. If the CKP fails, unfortunately you must replace the entire distributor housing.
Ports are usually under dash drivers side most cars. May have a plastic cap that says diagnostic or similar.
