I'm not sure....I saw today a big wide dragonfly eating up a tiny thinner one (or so it looked as the wing of the victim was almost coming off and its face being devoured, plus its body was half eaten up.) At first I thought they were making love (as you can see I am no dragonfly expert!!) but upon closer looking I saw the strange movements of the mouth of the bigger one, as if it were swallowing something. also, it was caring the body of the other one and as I said before, the wing looked as if it were about to come off; it was turning in weird directions and hanging loosely to the body of the other one.
I don't know why they do this, but perhaps it could be because they were two males (although the one who ate the other one was MUCH much bigger than him) or perhaps just enjoy the taste of dragonfly?
Yes, they communicate by means of touch and possible chemical signals.
Dragonflies make deep humming sounds when in flight. Unless one gets very close, you probably won't be able to hear their sounds.
Dragonflies can't hear, but they have great vision so they can catch their prey out of the air.
I think by there entenas
they fart
