They have really hard kicks and could kill their enemy from just one kick with the back legs.If there is a smaller animal they could grab them with their mouth and throws it up in the air so when it lands it could break its bones or at least get a bruise. They can also swing their hard heads against their enemy and if that doesn't work then the giraffe runs away.
Considering their height, it should be no surprise that the main protection a giraffe has is to see trouble from far away and avoid it. If a predator does approach, a giraffe can run at around 37 mph (60 kph) for a few miles. A giraffe can also kick quite forcefully if a predator gets close enough. They have very strong kicks and could kill a lion from a single kick from the back legs; mostly that happens when they are defending their young They also have been know to swing their head like a club - which can be rather forceful considering their long neck!
A giraffe can use it's hind legs.
If a predator leaped onto the back of the giraffe and tried to succeed in bringing it down, the giraffe can simply use its hind legs to kick the predator off. Giraffes can use this technique of natural defence with big predator like lions. If the predator continuesly tried to take down the giraffe, the giraffe would continuesly use it's technique of kicking the predator with its hind legs until the predator got bored and went of to find easier prey to catch and kill.
