My three goldfish who are normally whizzing around like a group of kids on blue smarties have suddenly gone almost hypnotised by the string of green lights i have draped around their tank... don't know why but they are very calm and have been floating serenely now for the two hours that i have had the lights on..
Blub! Blub!
Gold fish will react to food. It is a fish. It also reacts to people sometime.
No.
If a goldfish is kept in the dark it will appear lighter in the morning, So if left in the dark for a long period of time, a goldfish will turn almost white. If kept in the light, it will absorb color, and often become a brighter gold. (almost the same as when we tan, the sun gives us color, and when we get less of it we turn whiter, or lighter)
Under a black light, mold may appear as a fluorescent green or yellow color due to the presence of certain compounds that react to the ultraviolet light.
Green peas are rich in fiber which is good for goldfish. The only thing is, with canned peas, I would be sure to rinse them thoroughly in water. The goldfish do not need the preservatives and salt that might be included in the canning process,
You get light green.
They prefer one.
they don't. i have my gold fish in a glow fish tank with a blue LED light and he acts just fine. ;) Light has no effect on a Goldfish's behavior other than the fact that a goldfish will usually go to sleep when the lights are turned off.
UV light(s) influences behavior, physical appearance, and overall health in goldfish. They control when and at what times a goldfish will sleep, they also play an essential role in the color of the goldfish (a lack of light will result in paler fish), and provide energy for aquatic foliage- which results in the production of oxygen resulting in consiquently healthier fish.
Goldfish usually react positively to having a light source, however it is unhealthy to leave your fish tank illuminated constantly and the light also encourages algae to grow rapidly. Eight to twelve hours a day is sufficient for a happy goldfish.
Algae in a goldfish pond is quite common with an increase in sun (light) and temperature. To try and keep algae to a minimum you will want to look at ways to provide the pond with shade, and regularly change out some of the water for fresh water during the warmer months.
