In matter heat is the vibration (kinetic energy) of atoms or molecules and propagates in matter by means of conduction and convection.

Heat is also radiation and part of the electromagnetic spectrum which includes visible light. Thus heat and light are propagated in a vacuum as radiant energy, synchronized oscillations of electric and magnetic fields that propagate at the speed of light.

What do light waves propagate through?

Light waves propagate best through vacuum, or "nothing." Light waves also propagate at slower speeds through denser materials, such as air, glass, and clear water.

What is the heat transfer that occurs between the sun and the outer layer of the skin?

The heat energy comes from the Sun to us via electromagnetic radiation, mainly light, which can propagate through empty space.

What is the speed of gravitiy?

Gravitational waves propagate at the speed of light. Any change in the distribution of masses will propagate at that speed.

Why call light as E M wave which is not having neither electric nor magnet?

Electromagnetic waves, like light, do involve changes in the electric and the magnetic field. These changes propagate at the speed of light - as a wave.Electromagnetic waves, like light, do involve changes in the electric and the magnetic field. What is the difference between sound and visiblle light in transmission?

Sound will propagate through any matter, but not a vacuum, light will propagate through a vacuum, but only through transparent matter.

Does light propagate around electromagnetic fields in a vacuum?

It is not very clear what the question means. Light is an electromagnetic field and it can propagate in a vacuum. Propagation of a beam of light is unaffected by any other electromagnetic fields in its path.

Why speed of light is greater than speed of sound?

The speed of light is the speed at which electromagnetic waves propagate through a medium. The speed of sound is the speed at which acoustic waves propagate through a medium. As the speed of sound relies on the medium moreso than the speed of light, sound propagates much slower than light.

Is the James Maxwell discover that light is transverse elecromagnetic wave?

Yes, more or less. James Clerk Maxwell predicted that an electromagnetic wave would propagate at the speed of light. Therefore, he also suspected that light was an electromagnetic wave. This was confirmed later.Yes, more or less. James Clerk Maxwell predicted that an electromagnetic wave would propagate at the speed of light. Why light can pass through empty space?

Basically, light is NOT a mechanical wave, which would require matter; it is an electromagnetic wave, which means that disturbances in the electric field and the magnetic field propagate. This requires no matter; such fields exist - and can propagate - in empty space.

What are the types of energies released when a candle burns?

Energy in the form of heat and light is released.

What happens when light travels through vacuum?

Nothing. It continues to propagate at the speed of light, and is not diffracted or distorted except by negligible gravitational effects.

Nuclear fusion releases energy in what form?
