This isn't techy. It's pretty simple. If it's a whole folder, this is a simple technique.
Step One: Create a new desktop folder.
Step Two: Name it something normal (I named mine 'Children' since I have many cousins who are little and use my computer often)
Step Three: Create multiple folders inside the new folder. Make sure you name them with titles that would make sense to be in that folder. (Like for me: 'Coloring pages')
Step Four: Select each folder and fill it with sensible contents (This isn't required, but it helps in case some one decides to open them)
Step Five: Pick a folder.
Step Six: Put at least three new folders in that folder.
Step Seven: If you want extra security go on. If not, then add your folder. Rename it something normal. (Like for me: 'Ducks')
Step Eight: Extra-security. Don't add the folder yet! Add a new one and then follow Step Seven's instructions.
Windows 7 Turn off "hide protected operating system files" then you can see the recycle.bin folder and delete it.

Usually it's in C:\Windows.
On a Mac it is in the iTunes folder in the Music folder. On a Windows PC it is in the Music folder (or My Music inside My Documents on Windows 7).
Windows 7 does not have a kernel.
