Humans have an inconsistent impact upon Saguaro National Park. On the one hand, they show respect for such plants as the saguaro cactus but on the other they use off-roading vehicles which end up killing camoflaged, slow-moving populations of Sonoran desert lizards and tortoises.
This question is right up my alley.
Very time humans enter an area they change the environment. Even if you go to the Sequoia National Park you can see where humans have written on the inside of the tree. People at times also do not stay on the paths and change how the forest floor is structured.
In fact every time humans litter it affects the park. When they drive too fast and kill bears it affects the park. When they do not lock their bear box and a bear gets into it, this affects the park. Cars driving in and out emitting carbon monoxide and campers starting fires also effect the environment of the park.
The biggest thing people change is that the patterns of wildlife have changed since its opening.

Desert.
The roots that lie beneath the saguaro's surface soak up as much as 200 gallons of water -- enough to last a year. This is what sustains the saguaro in the dry desert environment.
