It is a 8mm square drive. You can try and make one by grinding 4 flats on a 10mm bolt or buy one from ebay or local hardware shop. Cheers

Right at the bottom of the sump, you will know for sure as it has a square drive hole in it. A proper socket will have to be bought to undo it Just a thought you can ( I do ) use the square bar that goes through the door between the door handles this is the perfect size ( in the UK anyway ) alot cheaper :D

The filter is in the sump and is difficult for anyone not familiar with Renault gearboxes to change. Try Plunketts in tooting London sw 17 9jr fone number 02086407272 they are Renault only specialists and charge £110 to change the filter and flush and refill with new atf. they may be able to sell you just the filter if you are foolhardy enough to try yourself.
