How do i have my child support dropped for my son who is now 18 in Michigan?

You need to contact the Friend of the Court in the county that you were divorced. Also, you may still be required to pay support if your child is still in high school. Read your divorce papers or custody agreement.

When there are substantial arrears. Michigan is now also suspending for denial of access rights.

No. Visitation and child support are 2 separate issues and the child (although now adult) does not have to see the parent. The parent is always obligated to support the child anyway. Child support usually stops from age 18 though but in some states it can be prolonged when the child is in college.

We just got in front of a Magistrate in Genesee County Michigan. She said that the state now owes us from 2007 when the child dropped out of school. No school, no support is what we were told. We go in front of a judge this May - I'll keep you all posted.

In theory the women should now be paying for there percentage of the keep of the child that is no longer living with the women, so yes she should pay child support now.
