The 1993 and 1994 models require you unbolt the large Y pipe at the exhaust manifolds, three bolts on each one. I believe they 14 or 15 mm nuts. Then unbolt the cat from the rear exhaust tube and remove the hanger that supports the cat. You will wind up with a cat and attached (welded together) Y pipe.
In the exhaust, along side of the trans.
The catalytic converter is in the exhaust next to the side of the trans, the torque converter, if automatic, is inside the bell housing.
One two
bad catalytic converter
your trans am has 3 oxygen sensors one on each exhaust manifold and one after the catalytic converter
Think of the torque converter as being the clutch between the engine and transmission.
Yes, if you put another one back one.Yes, if you put another one back one.
You'll have to remove the catalytic converter and Y-pipe and go with straight pipes with individual mufflers. Legally you can't remove the converter unless you're replacing it, which you'll need two if you're planning on true duals (to be legal, that is)
You will have to remove the transmission and then pull the converter out of the trans.
tourque converter is gone bad , or trans. internal damage
The torque converter is located inside the bell housing of the transmission. To access the torque converter, you would generally first remove the engine, trans, engine cradle, and rear suspension as an assembly (drop the cradle) , then remove the trans from the assembly (split the shell.)
Remove the bolts, remove offending fan and replace with new one
