Then if they decide they are suited as partners they will clean a spot on the bottom of the tank by removing the gravel (A flat rock on the bottom of the tank is good to have). Once the area is deemed clean enough the female will continually pass over the chosen spot placing her ova (eggs) in rows and then the male will pass over the ova placing his milt (sperm) over them to fertilise them. When the spawning is completed the pair will look after the ova and the resultant fry.
