Jamaicans take part in a thing called "Grand Market" on Christmas Eve, it is similar to the concept of black friday the only difference being Grand Market is held on Christmas Eve. Some Jamaicans may go to parties or some may go to church on Christmas Day or on Christmas eve and have a countdown until Christmas Day. However most Jamaicans stay home and have a large dinner which comprises of: gungo peas and rice, chicken, ham, curried goat, sorrel and many more variations. After this dinner family members may engage in recreational activities such as: playing dominoes or cards or just having a "talk"
