All humans learn the most about writing from reading.

Some will say that telling a story is the cornerstone of writing, so reading stories -- both fiction and non-fiction -- is a good way to find examples of writing that a writer wants to emulate.


Using a story as the basic motivation to write, then a student of writing can learn the technicalities -- the parts of speech, grammar and sentence/ paragraph construction, spelling, punctuation and so forth.
