There were numerous great inventions in the early 1900's. A few of the inventions were the airplane, adhesive tape, and the ball point pen.
There's little point in answering this, since the answer is of necessity constantly changing.There's particularly little point in answering it with a long and most likely copy-pasted list of inventions that weren't "the latest" when I was in high school thirty years ago (I'm looking at you, Jakebellotti).
TV is not needed. It's one of those inventions that is incredible from a technological point of view, but not actually of great benefit to society.
