it's hard to explain but basically the magnets electrons have been made to point all one way by dragging a powerful magnet over the piece of metal in 1 direction. so eventually the magnets electrons start to go back to normally so therefore it wont be magnetic. hope this helps you :)

Do magnets lose their power?

No.If you break the magnet, it is still a useful magnet.

When magnet is dipped or kept in water does it lose its power of attraction?

No, a magnet does not lose its power of attraction when it is dipped in water. The magnetic field of the magnet remains intact in water and it can still attract objects.

How to cause a magnet to lost its magnetic power?

A magnet can lose its magnetism if exposed to high temperatures. If heated above the point called the Curie temperature, a magnet will lose its magnetism.

How does a magnet lose its power over time?

A magnet can lose its power over time due to factors such as exposure to heat, physical damage, or being dropped repeatedly. These factors can disrupt the alignment of the magnetic domains within the magnet, causing it to weaken and lose its magnetic strength.

How long does it take for a magnet to lose its power and become demagnetized?

The time it takes for a magnet to lose its power and become demagnetized depends on factors like the material of the magnet and how it is used. In general, permanent magnets can retain their magnetism for a long time, even decades or centuries. However, external factors like high temperatures, strong magnetic fields, or physical damage can cause a magnet to lose its power more quickly.

Why should you never drop a magnet on the floor?

It will lose its magnetic field. The vibrations made from the drop charge the electrons and make them move out of the line that they were in, this causes the magnet to lose its magnetism.

How long does it take for a magnet to lose its power?

The time it takes for a magnet to lose its power can vary depending on factors like the type of magnet and how it is used. Generally, permanent magnets can retain their strength for many years, but can gradually weaken over time due to factors like exposure to high temperatures or physical damage. Electromagnets, on the other hand, can lose their power quickly once the electric current is turned off.

Why does rust change a magnet's power of attraction?

The oxidation causes magnets to lose protons that are essential for magnetic attraction

Can you store batteries without them losing their charge?

No they lose some of its power over time. it depends on the type of the battery. rechargeable lose more of there charge that normal battery's.

What was one of the things that people were afraid states might lose?

They were afraid to lose there power.

How does this cube shaped magnet with a button on it lose all magnetism when the button is pressed?

What you have is called a magnetic base. It is used to hold things in place. It has a magnet inside. The magnet moves to the bottom of the unit and magnetically attracts the metal below it. When the magnet is moved away by the button it releases its grip.

Does magnet power lose while contact on feviquick?

Yes, a magnet can lose its magnetic power when in contact with certain adhesives like Feviquick, which contains solvents that may affect the magnet's material properties. Prolonged exposure to heat generated during the curing process of the adhesive can also lead to a loss of magnetism. However, the extent of this effect depends on the type of magnet and the conditions of use. Generally, it’s advisable to keep magnets away from strong adhesives to preserve their strength.
