You can make curls with a flat iron. It's kind of hard to explain but YouTube.com has a ton of videos on how to do it. There are even a couple of sites with pictures that show you how to do it. Whoever said it can't be done hasn't been using their flat iron to it's full potential. LOL
depending on what flat iron you have, you can straighten your hair and sometimes you can even put loose curls in it
A flat iron smooths and flattens hair, you can also get an iron with a crimping plate to help crimp hair, or even learn to do curls with a flat iron.
A flat iron is a tool that straightens, curls, waves and/or flips the hair using heat-supplied plates, be they metal, ceramic, tourmaline, etc.

Yes it is I use alot and it does really nice curls
Yes, but you don`t want to flat iron it too much because then when you curl it, it will take an extremely long time to get a nice curl. But honestly, your curls look more natural and thick if you don`t flat iron it before you curl it.
yes use shampoo and conditioner often (or rinse and repeat witch ever one you prefer) and use suav anti curls and that should get your hair nice and flat note:the conditioner must also be suav anti curls so must the shampoo
The CHI flat iron. It is not only the best flat iron on the market but it is getting a good reputation for CHI curls. They are really pretty and popular in the salon. It has rounded edges which make it possible to curl. The Hotness Flat Iron features rounded edges for smooth, snag free curling. It also has a 4 year warranty where as CHI is known to stop working just after it's one year warranty is up.
You can't really "prevent" it, but you can temporarily do things to make it straight . You can straighten it with a flat iron ( but if you have small, tight, kinky, curls like African Americans, you could get it chemically relaxed, but I don't recommend it.) There are different hair products that can loosen curls and make them more wavy and manageable as well.
The difference would have to be that besides there obvious purpose difference that mechanically, a curling iron has a rounded rod to spin for curls where a straightener has 2 heated flat pads that steam hair flat.
You could try a special type of shampoo or use a straightener/flat iron. Just to be sure, MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE IRON WHEN YOUR DONE!! Trust me, not pretty if you think you forget.u use a straighner hoe did u not know that i am not trying to be mean ok
TIPS: You will need a thin flat iron and some sort of oil, which you can apply to the very ends of your hair. It is best if your hair as been conditioned before hand to give it the lightweight effect. You will then need to prepare the hair.Starts from the back and work in small sections, pinning up the curls in their formOnce you are near the front of the head, make a parting where desiredIf you are planning to sleep with them in or wear them out later, tie the curls in a loose bun, making sure to not spoil the partingOpen up the curls loosely just before you leave, slicking down any edges with water or a light gel.You should have loose, luscious curls.
