What is traditional dress worn by the Scots?

The national dress in Scotland (for men) is the kilt. A 'dress' kilt is worn with a white shirt, black waistcoat and black jacket, a sporran, socks and black shoes. It's also sometimes worn with a 'gillie' shirt, which is a loose white shirt with a criss-cross lacing tie at the neck. This is a more casual look. However, it is still worn with the sporran, socks and shoes.
