a mixture is something that has just been mixed together with something else and has not been chemically bonded however and element is something in its simplest form like gold, sodium, helium etc

I am sorry to burst your bubble but they aren't the same thing at all (unless you consider they are both matter.) For a mixture is two or more substances mixed together while a an element is on PURE substance.
