According to the Vinaya, the list of rules for Buddhist monks laid down by the Buddha, monks are not supposed to even touch money, thus they cannot earn money.

Monks who do not practice the Vinaya strictly earn money in a variety of ways. Some charge for teachings, some become school teachers, there are some who do not even wear their robes while they are at work, and only put them on when they are at home or performing religious functions.

Buddhist monks, specifically Tibetan monks, start their daily activities with a morning prayer and breakfast rite in the prayer hall. After which, they recite or memorize the ritual prayers. They then start English and/or Tibetan Language classes before lunch and until the afternoon.
