Yes this is very true. Males live long enough to reproduce with more females, but die within two months at most. Females lay their eggs in a secretive cave, and take care of her eggs for 6 whole months. Before they hatch she leaves and places herself to pass away in a small area. It is a triggered hormone that forces them to die after laying eggs, or in males case, after they mate. It is said that if the reproductive organs was removed for a female, she a longer chance of living. But I have never heard of this to happen, so perhaps it was just a rumor.

yes the males die and then the female holds the eggs for about a month without eating, and after the eggs come out the female dies.
