u don't, u drink the coke, then spend the penny
A penny goes clean in coke because the coke has so much sugar and chemicals that it even has enough power to clean a whole sink!
A few days.
It is said that the stronger the acidity of a solution is, the better it will clean the penny. There are many substances you can use, some of which are lemon juice, vinegar, Pepsi, Coke, etc..
You can clean tarnished coins by putting them in Coke. It takes about 12-15 hours for the tarnish to be cleaned. This does take some of surface off and could a coin grade lower. Some of the finer features may disappear.
It takes around 1 to 2 weeks Yes, Coke will dissolve a penny, although I don't know how long it would take. The phospheric acid in Coke will connect to the copper in the penny and create copper or zinc phosphate (e.g. dissolve it). Here is an article about it: http://www.finishing.com/336/08.shtml
To clean any penny, try using ketchup and a toothbrush. After that, make a paste out of baking soda and water then lightly rubbing the penny with your thumb. For even better results, try using an eraser. Any type, it doesn't matter. Your penny should be nice and clean!
I think the vinger
coke cleans penny better
This is the phosphoric acid.
No, Coke+penny=explosionBOoM!Don't try itDon't expect to see fireworks. The penny will not explode. In fact it WILL clean the penny a little.
it doesnt melt, but it gets very clean!
Long story short, seeing as coke is very acidic, the acid will dissolve the dirt.
What's crazy is that you can use anything to clean a penny. Water is probably the worst. Surprisingly, orange juice and Coke are very effective.(:
Yes mountain dew can clean a penny because there are acids in the formula. towards the penny and an acid can clean a pennny..You can also use toothpaste on a cottan ball or ketchup. Using an acid to clean a penny will destroy the collecting value of the coin.
That sounds like a good science experiment. Nobody has really studied how sodas clean things, so you should get 3 glasses and put Sprite in one and Coke in another and plain water in the last one. Drop a penny into each glass and measure how clean it gets after each day until one penny is totally clean.
soda will actually kill the penny till it looks like jo mama in about 24 hours....diet coke, sprite, and 7up clean them the best
it is because the acidity in the soda melts the dirt off witch is equivelent to coke cleaning a penny
Coke cleans a penny better than lemon juice because coke has a lot more chemicals than lemon juice.HOWEVER ...You should only clean ordinary coins that have no collector value. Anything you use to try to shine or otherwise "spiff up" a collectible coin will damage its surface and reduce its value to coin collectors.
You are waiting for someone to tell you that Coka-Cola will clean a penny arent you?! Well it will! Try it for yourself if you dont believe me, just BE PATIENT with the experiment before you complain that it doesnt work & say I lied to you! Although Coke is not the best thing in the world to use if you want to clean a penny, (neither is it the cheapest). There are other liquids that will act in a similar way: Malt Vinegar, Lemon Juice, and various other household chemicals. Personally Id rather drink the Coke and stick the penny in a jar with some others! I would put a drink coke but not with the penny in it
