the gobi desert is VERY HOT. As soon as the sun sets it starts to cool. Most of the desert life comes out at night to escape the heat

Velociraptor lived in the Gobi Desert. To deal with the heat, they were mostly noctournal. By sleeping in the shade during the day and being active at night while it was cooler, they could reduce the risk of overheating.
All deserts have low humidity and little cloud cover to hold the daytime heat. Once the sun sets they quickly cool down. Some deserts, particularly those further north, will be very hot in the summer but bitterly cold in winter. The Gobi Desert is a prime example.
Millions of people, including myself, survive living in the desert. In the United States, alone, there are millions of folks living in such desert cities as Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso, Bakersfield, etc. Once you learn to deal with the heat of summer, the desert is a great climate.
The surface of the desert absorbs a great deal of solar radiation during the day. Since there is usually no cloud cover or humidity to hold this heat at night, the desert quickly radiates this heat back into space once the sun sets.
"When most people hear the word 'desert' they think of heat but that is not necessarily so."
In order to survive, desert animals have developed a number of ways of adapting to their habitat. The most common adaptation in behaviour is staying in the shade of plants or rocks or by burrowing underground in the heat of the day. Many desert animals are nocturnal: they stay inactive in shelter during the day and hunt at night when it is cool.
List of Abiotic Factors of the DesertDeserts are hot and dry. Some of the deserts in world are Thar desert, Sahara desert, Arabian desert, Gobi desert, Atacama, and Kalahari desert to name a few. The abiotic factors of such an ecosystem includes soil (sand), sunlight, temperature, air and water. The winds , scarcity of water, high temperature , heat and land covered with sand makes the habitat fit to those kinds of animals which can survive such extreme climatic conditions. Therefore, we mostly find animals like camels, sand boa, scorpions, lizards, insects, coyotes, and eagles. A few plants like cactus and other species of succulent plants that are adapted to hot and dry conditions are found in the deserts.
Metal absorbs a great deal of heat from the sun. A metal house would quickly turn into an oven inside.
Lack of water and shade, heat, shortage of food as things are hard to grow in the desert.
There are cold deserts in many places. In Australia, in the Sahara, they are all very hot during the day. But, at night, with no cloud cover to stop the heat from escaping into the atmosphere, they can reach freezing point during the night. Even Antarctica is considered a desert! In China, there is the Gobi Desert, 1,295,000 km2 (500,002 sq mi). It is classed as a cold desert, with frost and occasionally snow occurring on its dunes.
