• Use recycled products. Buying recycled paper prevents more of the Amazon’s trees from being cut down. Plastic and glass can be recycled to prevent the use of additional land being for landfills.
• To save the Amazon rainforest you can reduce your paper and wood consumption. Logging companies are cutting down some of the most endangered forests on the planet to make wood and paper products. You can reduce your usage of paper and wood by using both sides of each piece of paper, using your own cloth bags at the grocery store and avoiding disposable paper plates and cups.
• Another way you can help save the amazon rainforest is reducing your beef consumption. This is helpful because the main cause for Amazon rainforest deforestation is clearing forest area for cattle pasture. Reducing your consumption of beef will reduce demand for it, cutting back on pressure to clear more forests for cattle.
• Reducing your oil consumption is also helpful in causing less damage to the Amazon rainforest. The burning of oil, gas, and coal is the primary cause of climate change, a trend that is threatening the stability of the global climate. In addition, oil exploration projects lead to toxic pollution and massive deforestation, posing a threat to pristine ecosystems and indigenous cultures worldwide.
