The primary difference between red and brown king crab legs lies in their species and flavor profile. Red king crab legs, from the species Paralithodes camtschaticus, are known for their sweet, tender meat and vibrant red color, often considered a delicacy. Brown king crab legs, from the species Lithodes aequispinus, have a firmer texture and a slightly less sweet flavor, with a more muted brownish hue. Both types are prized for their culinary uses, but red king crab is generally more sought after for its taste and appearance.
Some popular items on the Red Crab menu include Crab Cakes, Lobster Tail, King Crab Legs, Shrimp Alfredo, and Seafood Gumbo.
Yes they are scranvengers
The red king crab has several adaptations that help it thrive in its cold, marine environment. Its hard exoskeleton provides protection from predators, while its powerful claws enable it to access food sources like mollusks and other crustaceans. Additionally, the crab's ability to tolerate varying salinity levels allows it to inhabit diverse coastal habitats. Its strong swimming capabilities also help it navigate through different water depths in search of food and shelter.

The Alaskan king crab, also known as the red king crab, can grow quite large, with some individuals reaching a leg span of up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) and weighing over 24 pounds (11 kilograms). Their size can vary depending on factors like age, habitat, and food availability. These crabs are known for their impressive size and are highly sought after for their sweet, tender meat.
I do not have an answer. I was actually doing a search myself as to why they aren't serving king crabs anymore. I love king crabs and that was the sole reason I went to red lobster. Are they not profitable, or just not ordered enough to justify the cost? Are they out of season? Small catch which raised prices too high? Signed, Hungry for king crab.
no they will not eat red clawed crab!
The red crab is considered large when comparing them to other crabs. They can reach a size of roughly 4.6 inches wide.
