How do you use a mobile CB antenna for base station antenna?
Most antenna in cars can just be unscrewed at the base. You may have to disconnect a wire at the base though. Check your owner's manual or a car repair manual for more details.
If the antenna is broken off at the base the entire base will need to be replaced. In order to do this the upper dash pad and the cowl will have to be removed so the three bolts will be exposed to remove the broken one.
it is threaded onto the mast you must use a small wrench on the 2 flat spots on the base of the antenna. it has right handed threads
Remove/pull down the rear of the headliner. You will see a 20mm (or 22mm) nut that needs to be taken off in order for the antenna base to be removed.
Antenna gain of base station for a specific user depends on antenna pattern, antenna orientation (azimuth and tilt) and user's coordinates with respect to base station.
