Because Photosynthesis and respiration are oppositely linked the overall there is no affect on the carbon-oxygen cycle. While Photosynthesis occur in our natural world, like trees inhales carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and gives off oxygen and a complex called glucose. meanwhile in respiration is when the complex (glucose) is burned back in presence of oxygen and gives off carbon dioxide gas per unit amount used. This cycle is carbon neutral.

Photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy(Sun) --> Glucose + 6O2

Respiration: glucose + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy(ATP)

They are reverse processes.

What is the process that does the opposite to photosynthesis?

Cellular respiration, because it releases the energy stored in carbon bonds by photosynthesis, and recombines carbon into carbon dioxide.

Which molecules involved in photosynthesis and respiration contain carbon?

Carbon dioxide in cellular respiration CO2 And in photosynthesis Oxygen

The relationship between photosynthesis and cellular respiration is usually described as a cycle?

Photosynthesis removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Cellular respiration puts it back. Photosynthesis releases oxygen into the atmosphere, and cellular respiration uses that oxygen to release energy from food.

How is cellular resperation related to photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis uses light water and carbon dioxide to produce glucose. The glucose produced is then used, with oxygen, in cellular respiration to produce ATP. Chemical Equations Photosynthesis 6CO2+6H2O ------> C6H12O6+6O2 Cellular Respiration C6H12O6+6O2 ------> 6CO2+6H2O+38 ATP NOTE *Plants use photosynthesis and cellular respiration. *Animals just use the glucose they obtain from food to perform cellular respiration. *This is the formula for aerobic cellular respiration not anaerobic which doesn't use oxygen and produces lactic acid in humans.

Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are part of which cycle?

While photosynthesis requires carbon dioxide and releases oxygen, cellular respiration requires oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. It is the released oxygen that is used by us and most other organisms for cellular respiration.

The products of photosynthesis that begin cellular respiration are?

The products of photosynthesis that begin cellular respiration are oxygen and glucose. This will then yield carbon dioxide and water.

What does photosynthesis have that cellular respiration doesn't have?

Photosynthesis does consume carbon dioxide, which is obtained from the air, by means of respiration.
