Rivers are areas where water has been channelled through an area with banks that are higher than the waters surface. Rivers flow in a direction that is dictated by gravity which causes the water to flow or fall.
Waterfalls are when flowing water from a stream or river comes to a verticle drop or drastic change in elevation causing the water to fall over the edge.
