There are several ways to say "fighter," depending on how you are using it. One way is "combatiente" which usually refers to soldiers or people in the military. Another is "pugil" (accent on the first syllable) which refers to a boxer. And then there is "luchador" or for a female, "luchadora"-- this means a combative or confrontational person, and the word "lucha" is also used in the word for Wrestling, "lucha libre."
