scorpians sting to kill there prey
Spiders and scorpions do not use the same method to catch prey. Scorpions often kill prey with venom, using the stinger at the end of their tail. However, they first grab the prey with their claws. They then raise their tail over their heads and sting the prey. Spiders, however, either spin webs to entrap their prey, ambush or hunt for their prey using venom to subdue them, or wait for their prey until it approaches them, killing them with a suprise attack.
Mostly scorpions hunt insects, small rodents, reptiles, and sometimes each other.
Scorpions have hard shells and sleep in the day and hunt at night.
They stab their prey with their tale.
Insects And other Arthropods
Yes
Scorpions are predatory. They often ambush their prey, lying in wait as they sense its approach. They consume all types of insects, spiders, centipedes and other scorpions. Larger scorpions may feed on vertebrates, such as smaller lizards, snakes, and mice if they are able to subdue them. They capture their prey with their pedipalps, paralyzing them with their venom as well if necessary. The immobilized prey is then subjected to an acid spray that dissolves the tissues, allowing the scorpion to suck up the remains. As well as being predators, scorpions are also prey. Many types of creatures, such as centipedes, tarantulas, insectivorous lizards, birds (especially owls), and mammals, including shrews, grasshopper mice, and bats hunt scorpions for food.
A scorpion gets its food by paralyzing it with its venom at the tip of its tail then swallows it.
Owls and scorpions
So they can eat better
Scorpions can either overwhelm their prey with their pinchers or through the introduction of a neurotoxin delivered by the point of their tail ; see relevant link to additional information.
