Our science teacher said it would fight or take flight. If it would flight it would run away from what the creature was, as in if the crature was bigger than it. It wold fight if the animal was smaller than it.They alos depend on its hard outer shell.

Crabs need enough water to keep it and its gills wet, and it needs to be able to eat plankton, limpets, other crabs, mussels, shrimp, worms and other types of alge.

They need rocks to hide under as well

Hermi crabs are scavengers, so they eat anything they can find, like in the wild they will eat dead fish on the shore, climb trees to eat bugs, and fruit like mangos they have fallen off of trees.

In captivity hermit crabs can eat fruits, veggies, and sea food like shrimp.

We use to use dry dog food samples, it last a long time and the crabs do not eat very much. I am talking about hermit crabs.
