Most snowy owls don't have to avoid predators as very few other predators will attack an adult owl. They are large, strong fliers equipped with large talons and will turn on a predator if they can't out fly them. Predators do attempt to take snowy owl eggs and chicks. The nest site is fiercely guarded by both parents and the attackers become the attacked if they attempt to take an egg or chick.
