The sealed-in oxygen doesn't stop your blood exploding, as you put it. The fact that the pressure within the spacecraft or space suit is more or less the same as on Earth is what stops that.

There are other things in space as well, to be thought about. For example, there is radiation which is harmful (no atmosphere to cut it out) and there are subatomic particles which would bombard you if you were not contained ina protective shell.
