Remember military boot camp is meant to take a civilian and turn them into a sailor\soldier\marine\airman. You'll get yelled at for pretty much everything you do, everything you do is wrong. They teach you to work as a team not an individual, if somebody messes up you all get punished. It's really intense, they put you on the spot to see how you react to certain situations. In the beginning it's all yelling and very confusing. After about 3 weeks you'll notice they start being a bit softer on you, they'll talk normally sometimes, explain things more, etc. After a month and a half or so they actually start liking you.
When I was at boot camp my division was messing up a lot, some of us were slacking off and things like that. Our RDC got us into formation in the center of the compartment and played some YouTube videos for us. One of them was about a SEAL who jumped on a grenade to save his shipmates, he died but everybody else survived. The second video was a video about 9/11, it was a bunch of pictures and videos of what happened on 9/11 along with a song and a little girl talking about her father who died during the attack, how she misses him and shell see him again some day, etc. After the video he said that was to remind you what you're fighting for, every one of us was crying.
It's a great experience though, the people you go through bootcamp with are going to be lifelong friends, you eat, sleep, shower, learn, workout, get yelled at together. My RDC was a diehard Packers fan so he got us all to write a letter to the packers asking them to come workout with us for a day (They just sent us some magazines).
