The main job of the WikiAnswers Site Guardians is to protect the site from vandals and spammers.
We do this by constantly monitoring recent site activity:
* We look for users who ask inappropriate questions. * We look for users who have "made this change" to answers. * We look for users who have added related links to questions. * We look for cyberbullying taking place on the site.
With a mere click of the mouse, we can see instantly what activity has taken place:
* If we find a user has broken the WikiAnswers terms of use agreement, we then check all their contributions. * If we feel that a genuine mistake has been made, we will message the user and advise them to read the Terms of Use (TOU) & the Stylebook. * If we feel the TOU have been knowingly broken, the user will either get an official warning, or -- in severe cases -- we will instantly block the user from contributing to the site in future.
The Site Guardians are overseen by the Vandal Patrol coordinator, An8thg.
We are set up to protect the site, and to make WikiAnswers a better place for the good users. If you vandalize the site or if you post spam, the Vandal Patrol will catch you in time.
