The German Hygiene Museum in Dresden. This institution promulgated racial theories and helped to shape the idea of which peoples were "unworthy" of living.
Alfred is pronounced exactly how it sounds. Wegener is pronounced Vayguner. The Germans pronounce W's as V's.
Germans would pronounce their words differently just like English do. For example, if a 'cockney' accented person said 'I am', you can imagine what It'd sound like compared to a Scottsman. From my experience of living in Germany, and from what I've learned, the further South you go in Germany, the more dialect is spoken and they pronounce words more 'fully'. For example, if a Northern German said 'Ich' (Means 'I') they'd pronounce it 'Ish'. Whereas if you go South, a German would pronounce it 'Ikh'.
"Cause they speakdifferentlanguages... duhh"Oh dear - there are some ignorant people here! I'm guessing the person who gave the above answer doesn't actually speak English as a first language, or else he would know how ridiculous his answer was. Probably doesn't know Beethoven is a German name either. So, to simplify for the simpletons: How come Germans pronounce Beethoven the same as it is spelt, with a *bee* sound (AS ONE WOULD EXPECT), but the English change the pronunciation?

This all depended on who was loading it, but on a trip i took to a holocaust museum my guide told me that it was anywhere between 50-200. The museum actually had a box car, my class of 25 stood in a small section, and it would have been terrible to be in there for hours.
