i have been having iron tabs for the last 10 months and have been told i have microcytosis what is the treatment and how has this problem happened
very much smaller than the average red blood cell and pink in color due to low hemoglobin in the body
Red blood cells are small in the most common type of anemia (iron deficiency anemia, which leads to a condition called microcytic hypochromic anemia), but they are not small in all types of anemia. For example, a deficiency in vitamin B12 or folic acid leads to a type of anemia called megaloblastic anemia, a form of macrocytic anemia, so named because of the characteristic large red blood cells.
microcytic anemia or iron deficiency anemia.... also hair loss, pallor, weakness, fatigue and plummer vinson syndrome ---------------------------------------------------------Recommend me if u like this.....
In such a case, the red blood cell would appear larger than normal (e.g. from vitamin B-12 deficiency) and paler than normal (not as red appearing).

Sickle Cell Anemia is a disease that makes red blood cells, which are normally circular, crescent-like. These cells don't live as long as normal red blood cells. They also can clot very easily. If you have SCA, you are 'immune', persay, to Malaria. I hope this answered your question somewhat.
When you walk past someone who sneezes. The anemia gets its sickle into your cells that way. This is wrong^^^^ This is the correct answer: Sickle cell anemia is caused by an abnormal type of hemoglobin called hemoglobin S. Hemoglobin is a protein inside red blood cells that carries oxygen. Hemoglobin S changes the shape of red blood cells, especially when the cells are exposed to low oxygen levels. The red blood cells become shaped like crescents or sickles. ( its passed down from parents to offspring, if they have the trait )
Anemia is defined as a condition where the body does not produce enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells are responsible for sending oxygen to the tissues of the body. Some possible causes of anemia are: certain medications, genetics, kidney failure, blood loss, pregnancy and more. Anemia can be identified by chest pain, dizziness or light-headedness, shortness of breath, tingling and constipation. Anemia can be dealt with by supplements of B12 and folic acid, blood transfusions and medicines like cortiocosteroids that help suppress the immune system.
The red blood cells would be shaped like crescent moons.
It sounds like you are looking for Sickle Cell Anemia.
Sickle cell anemia is a disease passed down through families in which red blood cells form an abnormal crescent shape. It is also called sickle cell anemia.
