The Egyptians themselves recorded the building of barges for transporting stones for building temples and pyramids; accounts were also written by later Greek and Roman visitors to Egypt.
Gaius Plinius Secundus (Pliny), a Roman Historian, wrote in detail about the transportation of a heavy stone obelisk:
"A canal was dug from the river Nile to the spot where the obelisk lay; and two broad vessels, laden with blocks of similar stone a foot square, the cargo of each amounting to double the size, and consequently double the weight, of the obelisk, were brought beneath it; the extremities of the obelisk remaining supported by the opposite sides of the canal. The blocks of stone were then removed, and the vessels, being thus gradually lightened, received their burden. It was erected upon a base of six square blocks, quarried from the same mountain, and the artist was rewarded with the sum of fifty talents."
Egyptian boats were used for taking great pharaohs to funeral's, and transporting the sun dried mud bricks to the pryamid building site.
The most important "machine" was the inclined plane, the ramp used to raise the stones to the working level. The lever used to manhandle the stones into position and in the quarries to lift the stones onto the sledge on which they were transported. In the absence of the wheel the sledge with its narrow runners minimised the effects of friction.
They dug irrigation canals to carry water from the Nile.
Egyptians traveled by many different ways in which we still use today. They used boats to travel down the Nile river mainly for purposes of trade and other forms of commerce. Of course one had the cheapest way of transportation-that is by foot. They also used their animals like horses for transportation it was not uncommon to see people riding on the back of a mule or some other form of livestock to get from place to place when they couldn't use a boat. Boats were for more of the elite and wealthy of society though. Livestock and animal use of transportation was for the poor in society meaning the farmers and craftsperons. They also used cartherages pulled by hourses during trading.(More simple way..)They traded on, boats (only wealthy people),Animals (ex:horses...etc... only for farmers), If not a farmer and not wealthy, they walked. In Kush, they used camels, but before that they traveled on the seas.they travel by boat
King tut was buried with a chariot because ancient egyptians believed that the dead went to the afterlife and buried the dead person's items with them so they could use them in the afterlife.
There were many types of boats that Egyptians used. Papyrus boats were used by Egyptians. Papyrus boats were built with bundles of papyrus. They were steered with oars. Sailboats were used a lot by Egyptians. Sailboats were steered by two oars. Sailboats usually only had one square sail. Funeral boats carried dead people down river. They were used to carry the dead across the Nile River. The funeral boats were very elaborate.
