The grooves on the soles of shoes and boots are known as the treads. Running shoes may have spikes for grip on grass running tracks. Football boots have studs, also for grip on an often slippery, grass football pitch.

Can you change the metal spikes to plastic ones on puma soccer boots

The thing about Football boots, is that they have spikes on the bottom. For the most part, they are designed to keep a player's traction on the ground. This may be a problem during Soccer because of all the running around that is required. In other words, you can. But the results may or may not be good.
There are spiked heels in javelin boots and on the take-off shoe in high jump.
No you don't need to wear football boots, you could wear running shoes.
Cletes
They were studded shoes to support them when running on the grass. This gives them a better grip. SO they were studs (football boots)
Well it relly depends on what ground you play on if it is grass they might wear blunt spikes ( which are like on soccer or football boots) or clay they might wear extra tred shoes or dirt which they would wear treds. i play baseball and i have 12 different types of shoes just because it all depends on what surface you play on.
If you are referring to ice-walking equipment then they are "crampons". Otherwise there are no metal spikes on hiking boots.
