There could be many reasons for this failure. Normally it is caused by a faulty passlock sensor. The ONLY way to be certain is going to be by using a class 2 scan tool with the ability to read more than simple check engine lights. The security light blinking is much like a check engine light and with this tool you can find the trouble code associated with the no start condition. There is a simple relearn procedure that you can try. It may work, but if it doesn't you are going to be stuck getting this to someone with the proper diagnostic equipment to find the failure. Here is how the relearn is done.

• Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
• Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
• Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
• Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
• Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes ( the vehicle is now ready to relearn the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch

transition from OFF to CRANK).

Important

The vehicle learns the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or password XX the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.

• Start the engine (the vehicle has now learned the PasslockTM Sensor Data Code and/or password)
