How do you Calibrate a timex digital compass?
Go to the Timex web site and look up "manuals". They have enough of a listing to figure out the correct procedure for your device. Here is the URL for the page I'm speaking of. http://assets.timex.com/manuals/?timexBrand=core I own the Expedition Adventure Tech Digital Compass Watch, and the following instructions will calibrate its compass. A. To calibrate for magnetic north, press and hold HEADING (from TIME OF DAY mode only) until ROTATE WATCH TWICE appears in the display. B. Hold watch level relative to the horizon (on your wrist, in your palm, or on a non-metallic table). Rotate watch slowly two complete rotations (taking at least fifteen seconds per rotation). Press MODE when finished. (Two-step calibration: Upon completion of STEP A, press HEADING. Do not enter a value for declination angle. While in TIME OF DAY mode, press HEADING. A heading will be displayed. Noting heading value, adjust watch position for heading of 150 degrees. Initiate calibration by pressing and holding HEADING until ROTATE WATCH Twice is displayed. Repeat calibration procedure as discussed in Step A. At completion of calibration proceed normally to Step C.) C. Watch will then call for you to enter DECLINATION. Pressing HEADING will exit calibration mode and leave watch set to measure magnetic north. Entering a declination value instead will allow the watch to point to true north, by adjusting for the angle, which varies for different spots on the globe. D. To set watch for true north, enter declination angle for your location from the chart below. Press START to advance flashing TENS OF DEGREES, press MODE to select DEGREES, then START to advance. Press MODE to select direction, then START to switch between E and W. Press HEADING to exit calibration and save new values. TABLE 1. To set the compass, find a LARGE empty parking lot. Drive counterclockwise around 10-12 mph; about the second revolution you'll see the compass go into "--" display; by the fifth or so you'll see it pick up the proper headings and you're done. On the other hand, if it's like mine, there's a sensor s…omewhere that went out. I can drive in circles all day and no matter what, I'm still driving SW regardless of direction! This worked on my 2000 Chrysler Town & Country. THANKS!! ( Full Answer )
Answer . I know this sounds stupid but drive around in a circle 3-6 times one way then the other.
Small magnets are rotated to "null out" local magnet fields so the compass will accurately align to magnetic North.
a magnetic compass shows the direction of magnetic north and bearings from it . a compass is also a drawing utensil in design and technology that you can use to draw accurate circles. This has been improved by Harriet webster
Answer . refer to owners manual, depending upon options, if you have navi or not, you should have it in your rear view mirror and in your navi selection through your idrive, or obc if so equipped.

Is it possible to get a digital or electronic compass that is not affected by steel structures in its close vicinity?
Answer . No compass can be accurate with steel structures in close vicinity but a GPS will do the trick
A compass is an instrument for determining direction consisting essentially of a freely suspended magnetic needle that points toward the magnetic north.

As described in the dictionaries, the compass has different meanings, mainly: . A device used to determine geographic direction, usually consisting of a magnetic needle or needles horizontally mounted or suspended and free to pivot until aligned with the earth's magnetic field. . Another device,… such as a radio compass or a gyro-compass, used for determining geographic direction. . A V-shaped device for describing circles or circular arcs and for taking measurements, consisting of a pair of rigid, end-hinged legs, one of which is equipped with a pen, pencil, or other marker and the other with a sharp point providing a pivot about which the drawing leg is turned. Also called pair of compasses . . An enclosing line or boundary; a circumference: outside the compass of the fence. A synonyms to circumference . A restricted space or area: four huge crates within the compass of the elevator. . Range or scope, as of understanding, perception, or authority: "Lacking a coherent intellectual and moral commitment, [he] was forced to find his compass in personal experience" A synonyms to range . Music . The gamut of tones that a voice or instrument is capable of producing. A synonyms to range ( Full Answer )
1. A device using a magnetized needle to point to the direction of magnetic north (which is actually a south pole, but that's another story). 2. A device for drawing circles.

Has anyone had a strange experience with the number 29 popping up unexpectably on their watch in the date area. analog not digital. My timex read the 3rd yesterday it was. this morning it read 29?
I used to have a similar experience with a different number. I seemed to see it all the time, on clocks, license plates, you name it. I came to the conclusion that I had an expectation to see it, and I just wasn't noticing that other numbers showed up around me, too, because I wasn't looking for tho…se numbers! I only noticed the one I was focusing on. It didn't mean anything in particular other than that I saw what I expected to see. ( Full Answer )
When you are in the calibration mode on the display, drive the car in a clockwise circle- preferably in a deserted parking lot- 3 times around, then STOP the car when your display points NORTH. hit the set button and it will or should save this position, it will only be accurate for about 500 miles …or so. If this does not work, try counter-clockwise circles, 3 times, hit set. as it has been awhile since I did this I dont remember the correct rotation, because it simply is a pain in the u-know- what to keep doing this if you put a lot of miles on your car. It should tell you how in the car owner's manual. It's probably a different process in the 2000 and later models.
HI, You usually have to pick your Zont in time and then hit the calibrate button.......Then you drive slowly in a very small circle till it calibrates. This doesnt work for me for some reason so I set the compass manually. Find North where you are. Point the car to North Keep pushing the Zone… button till the North needle points to North. When you have the needle at North you are done!! Works great, fast to setup, easily changed when you go on a long trip.........Drive Safe ( Full Answer )
last i checked is u find a nice wide open parking lot and drive in a tight cirlce 4 or 5 times more if u would lke just to make sure, and then drive streight again. Counter clock wise should work, if it doesnt try clock wise.
Hello,. You have to calibrate it first. Depending on which model you have, you usually have to push the button on the top right side of the watch for a few seconds, rotate the watch twice with each rotation lasting at least 15 seconds, then enter the declination number for the area that you live in…. After calibrating it, just push the same button on the top right side of the watch to display the direction you're heading in. I hope that helps. ( Full Answer )
To calibrate compass you need to drive two full 360 degrees turns and this will calibrate your compass. If the calibration is not successfully completed, then you have to go to dealer to install a magnetic plate to help calibration
I've owned one for a few months now,Calibration is easy.. 1. pull the right hand middle button out once. 2. press the left hand compasss button once (the needle will spin twice to let you know it's in calibration mode). 3. slowly spin the watch twice anti-clockwise (taking about 1 min throughout)…. 4. press the compass button again (needle will swing to and back at the top to let you know it found the magnetic North position). push the right middle button back in.. Job Done. ( Full Answer )

Calibration involves the use of a known mass to correct the accuracy of a scale. Many digital scales require a specific weight to calibrate with and to procedure varies between different models, so you will need to check your user manual for the required weight and steps. Pro Tip: Don't use nickels… to make a "calibration weight". It would take tens or hundreds of nickels to equal the weight needed to calibrate most scales, and nickels are also not always exactly 5.0g. Sometimes they can be 4.9g or 5.1g depending on wear and tear. You are very likely to make your scale's accuracy worse if you try calibrating with nickels. ( Full Answer )
A compass is a non-electrical device that always points to the North Pole using the Earth's magnetic fields. It is used in navigation.
A compass is a navigational device that gives positionalinformation in regards to North, South, East, and West. The firstknown version of this device was created in 206 BC.
They don't, they're usually quite crappy and break easily when left too long out in the sun. If you plan on taking a hike with your digital compass watch, (makes sense, huh?) my advice is, DON'T.
To make sure thermometers is accurate so that it is consistent in its measurements of temperature.

The equivalent of 500.0g as a weight for calibration for a digital scale is about 500ml of water. Just keep in mind that you must compensate for the tare weight of the beaker. Strictly speaking, the mass of water is 1 g/ml, but only for pure water, and at +4 degrees C.
To calibrate a digital salter scale, you need to have a knownweight. With the known weight, you can careful calibrate thedigital salter scales.
Press the 'spl/ret' button (2), hold down then press 'mode' (3) should change for you.
try getting into calibration mode and driving three tight circles in an empty parking lot(without a cop watching preferably).
A known weight. Weigh the object on a scale that is already calibrated, then weigh the item on your scale, and change the setting to read the known weight.
In most cases you press the reset button on the compass and then drive in circles (in a parking lot) while it calibrates.
Well it depends on your style. Both are very good brands. Both are somewhat low prices. But a difference is their style and features. I usually buy both. The better brand probably depends on you.
People deserve good life time and mortgage loans or commercial loan can make it much better. Just because freedom is based on money state.
Get rid of the dial. Trust the digital hygrometer. If you have a large humidor get two.
How you can determine the melting point of a compound using capillary tubes and a digital melting point apparatus that need to be calibrated each time of use?
Melting points are ranges usually. It starts when the first crystal of the substance being tested melts and ends when the last crystal melts. Therefore the smallest sample possible and the slowest rate of heating will give the most accurate melting point.

You will need more than just one nickel. Most scales require you to calibrate with a specific weight, usually a weight that is close to the scales capacity (ie 500g weight for 500g capacity scale) Nickels weigh approximately 5g so you would needs lots of them. However it is not exact and you will s…ometimes find nickels that weigh 4.9g to 5.1g. Nickels should only be used as a last ditch effort to fix a scale that is way out of calibration. You can find cheap calibration weights for pocket scales online. ( Full Answer )
How do you calibrate the compass on a Ford Windstar when the instructions in the manual do not work?
Your automatic dimming rear view mirror may not be working as well. If so, you have a blown fuse. A 5 amp fuse I believe.

Depending on which gender style watch, Timex ranges from 80 dollars (for the most simple, featureless watches) to over 400 dollars (for the more elaborate, ornate and featured watches.) For more information visit their stores/site or other retail locations and stores.
This varies from model to model. Some models use GPS signals to determine their current location and orientation. The Qibla direction is then calculated and displayed on the screen. For more information look up Global Positioning System.
