If you have a pump that's in the tank, the easiest way is to listen for it to kick on. Most of the time its just a humm. By the way if it is bad and your car is cutting out on you, don't spend the $350.00 and up to have a mechanic pull your tank, drop your rear end and have to weld back your exhaust. Just get on to JC Whitney and buy an inline fuel pump and hook it up. I paid to have mine done but put one on a friends to see if it would work and it works great, its just a little louder than the factory one in the tank.
the vent in your fuel tank is not working properly
Fuel pressure test is the only sure way.
replace harness and use lucas injector cleaner.
OK THIS IS HOW I WOULD ADDRESS THE PROBLEM NOT KNOWING THE TYPE OF QUAD FIRST PLACE I WOULD START WITH IS IS THE TANK MAKE SURE THERE IS NO DIRT, THEN I WOULD GO TO THE PET COCK MAKE SURE ITS WORKING PROPERLY U CAN DO THIS BY PULLING OFF THE FUEL LINES GOING TO THEM , NEXT I WOULD CHECK FUEL LINES FOR CRACKS SOME TIMES THEY WILL DRY OUT, IF THE LINES ARE GOOD AND YOUR GETTING FUEL TO YOUR CARB , THE NEXT THING I WOULD CHECK WOULD BE IS TO PULL THE THE BOWL NND CHECK TO SEE THE FLOAT IS WORKING PROPER SOME TIMES THE FLOAT WILL STICK OR THE TABS WILL BEND ON THE FLOAT AND NOT LET THE FUEL TO FLOW PROPERLY, GOOD LUCK REMEMBER PROCESS OF ELIMINATION AND WHEN WORKING WITH GAS ALWAYS SAFETY
check fuel pump fuse..
Either the fuel pump isn't working properly or the fuel filter is plugged.
Fuel pressure. Need more info to give you required fuel pressure needed to run properly.
Might be a clogged fuel filter. Change the filter. Then do a fuel volume check to see if the pump is working properly.
You would need to use alternative method of checking the fuel level, such as dipping the tank.
First check the fuse for the 2003 Cavalier gauge. Next check the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank to insure that its working properly. Check the gauge next, then the wiring for the system. One of these units is causing your gauge to not work.
Check for antitheft system preventing fuel pump operation (look for bad lock cylinder) or insufficient fuel pulse as from improper ECT voltage.
Try turning it around. If it's not pumping there is a good chance that it is installed backwards. If that's not the case then check to make sure that your fuel pump is working properly.
