This should be easy.I have an 85 720 Nissan.first remove cable form the battery.than lean over right fender I think it's a 14 or 15 socket with a short extension.on the top of the start one wire that runs to the + wire to the battery remove that then remove the bottom bolt.you might need to wiggly the starter round.then pull up towards you.
Replace Remove starter Remove solenoid at top of starter Remove front end of starter for access Remove locking washer from starter shaft Drive should slide off shaft
by going over the top of the bell housing
by the oil filter

remove negative battery cable, jack up truck and remove front passenger tire, easier to get to,its next to oil filter, remove ignition wire from starter, remove positive battery cable from starter, remove 2 bolts holding starter on to engine, remove starter, installation is same as installing.g0ood luck.
no such relay.
remove the passenger front wheel and remove the 2 13mm bolts that hold it in and then you can disconect the positive cable on the starter. Note disconnect the battery first! The next time you do it you it will be easier and you wont have to remove the front wheel just turn it all the way to the left. If you buy a rebuilt starter you will be doing this every year or sooner/ buy a new Hitachi starter from Nissan and it should outlast the truck. remove the passenger front wheel and remove the 2 13mm bolts that hold it in and then you can disconect the positive cable on the starter. First remove the negative battery cable from battery. Then get under truck and remove the wires from the starter solenoid, making sure to mark them to which terminal each goes to. Then remove the two bolts holding the starter and then lift out the starter and solenoid. That is how hard it is.
