One reason the seat belt on your PT Cruiser is stuck is that there is a twist in the belt. The mechanism that retracts the seat belt may be jammed or broken.

How do you take the seat off kawasaki 636?

How to remove the front seat: Remove the rear seat first by inserting the ignition key on the side of the bike (refer to the manual if you can't find it), on the very front of the compartment where the rear-seat was you will see a screw holding a metal belt, unscrew it and then slide the belt sideways (usually to the right). The front seat should get released and you can remove it and gain access to the battery etc.

How do you repair a seat belt for a 97 Pontiac Montana?

I assume your seat belt is stuck (locked in place and will not come out). First, to access the place where the seat belt rolls up: For the rear seat belts, the plastic pops off easily. For the front mechanisms, simply pry off the plastic guard near where the seat belt enters. If that's not enough leverage, remove the plastic guards on the floor near the doors and you can pry the plastic wall toward the center of the vehicle. On my own Pontiac Montana I employed 3 strategies to straighten out twisted belts: 1. Short and quick tugs on the belt. Sometimes this jarred the belt loose. 2. Screwdriver into the seat belt mechanism. If the seat belt won't simply come loose, there is most likely a fold in the belt deep inside the roll. Pushing and prying with a screwdriver I have been able to straighten out the turn in the seat belt enough to let the seat belt pull out fully. Afterward, make sure there are no twists in the belt as you feed it in to the mechanism. (Alternatively, use the screwdriver to force the belt in "just a little farther" and the mechanism may come loose. There are metal ridges on either side of the roll you can push.) 3. Remove your daughter's necklace Yes, um, the seat belt somehow ate my daughter's beaded necklace. Removing the obstruction in the roll allowed it to flow freely. If your belt is ripped or frayed, simply replace the entire seat belt. The seat belt can lose up to 50% of its strength after receiving a 5mm cut into the belt (1/2 a centimeter).

How do you unstick a seat belt on a 1995 Oldsmobile Silhouette?

I did this yesterday on my 1997 Oldsmobile Silhouette. My seat belt was twisted on the seat belt mechanism on the passenger side of the vehicle so I did the following. Open front passenger door and sliding door. Peel back the seal around the door frame sufficient to expose the trim that covers the seat belt mechanism. Remove the trim piece that is on the passenger side floor. (This would be the piece that the door covers when the door is closed.) Using a slotted prybar (like a screwdriver with a forked tounge), I pried the body mount fasteners of the floor trim away from the body. I removed the floor trim on the passenger side and raised it just enough on the sliding door side to be able to free the seat belt trim covering. I then peeled back the trim that covers the seat belt mechanism. This requires a little maneuvering as there are body tabs that go under the trim piece at the top. Once the seat belt mechanism trim was released, I had access to the seat belt device. The seat belt is held in by one bolt that has a Star slot. I used a star slot driver and a 3/8" ratchet with a small extension to access that bolt. I needed a breaker bar with a good amount of force to free the bolt. Once freed, I was able to ratchet it out. Once the bolt was removed, the mechanism could be unhooked from the body of the van. Using a screwdriver I was able to hold back the release latch and pull the strap until I reached the point where the belt had been crossed. I straightened out the belt and returned the mechanism to the body of the van and then installed the star bolt. I reassembled the trim and restored the door seals to their former position. How do you unlock a seat belt on a vibe?

Have you tried to allow the belt to fully retract? The belt is designed to 'engage' the locking mechanism when fully extended -- you'll hear a 'click' when it reaches the end of it's reach. This is all so you can use the belt to secure in a child seat without using any extra clips and such. Pull the belt all the way out, hear the click, route it 'round and through the proper channels of the seat, pull it tight, and the mechanism will keep the belt tight and from losening, holding the seat secure. To release the lock, allow the belt to fully retract.
