I have a 1983 bronco full size and I had to replace my wiper motor. I had to remove the wiper blades and arms then I had to remove the cowl. once you remove the cowl it is pretty much straight forward from there it took me by myself about 3 hours to do this job.
oh yah make sure you time the wiper arms before turning them on to try them.

The wiper motor is located on the right hand side of the fire wall in the engine compartment

The wiper motor is located behind the dash pad in front of the driver,yes but didn't have to take the dash pad off! Just drop the windshield onto the hood and there it is! The linkage is accessible through a slot in the windshield frame....
