So far, the datapads in Halo: Reach have no function, but it is possible that, as they did with the skulls, Bungie will add some type of reward or mini-game for them to follow.
It only happens if you add a Safe boundary that's not within your range, that's why trust me find it in forge and delete it that's all i have to say about that.
bungie have done a very good job of stopping cheats to cause an advantage. there are however glitches on forge which make it fun and add a great twist on the game. and MODS but they are illegal so don't do them. but, in a nut shell, you cannot legally cheat to give you an advantage. but if you could, why would
