The halo means there is a ring of light around one of the light bulbs. The other light bulb is a projector, a small concentrated light. If you see a late model BMW, it will have halo lights. Hope this helps.
Until they're able to get rid of the spinning color wheel inside those sets, I wouldn't recommend you purchase a DLP set, regardless of how great the picture looks.
